Happy St Patrick’s Day! Today is my 30th birthday and I’ve always thought that a birthday on March 17th made me pretty special 😉 Today I’ve done a lot of reflecting in my life and what this day really means to me. My mother texted me and wished me happy birthday… I thought, “she gave me life on that day… and now I get all the credit?” Mom, you’re the best!
Luck isn’t on demand. Luck really is a leprechaun. You won’t see him coming and you can guarantee he’s been saving a pot of gold. The question is, how do you catch the little rascal?
Rather than wait or wish for better luck, I want to invite you (and myself) to start preparing for the inevitable. What a tragedy to have your ship come in and find that you did not purchase a ticket. It makes me think of the parable of the ten virgins (Matt 25). I’m sure you’re familiar with the story of ten women who knew what they wanted and waited for it. Some prepared and some did not.
As a kid I used to wish I could have a birthday every day. As an adult, I realize that it’s possible. A day of birth is simply a day of new living. You have the opportunity to live a better day today than you did yesterday. You have the opportunity to take one step in the right direction today.
Opportunity is knocking… will you answer?
